KATHMANDU: The film “Gauthali”, directed by Dr. Kapil Rijal, is set to hit cinemas on July 17.

The film is based on the concept of an earlier project of the same name made two decades ago and explores a socially sensitive storyline centered on the struggles of an educated young woman who faces severe domestic oppression after marriage.

As the release date approaches, the production team has already unveiled the film’s teaser and a song, both of which have received an overwhelmingly positive response on YouTube.

Viewers have praised the teaser for being emotional and realistic, appreciating its strong subject matter and impactful dialogue delivery.

Many have also expressed gratitude to the makers for highlighting an important social issue.

Following the encouraging response, director Dr. Kapil Rijal expressed happiness over the audience appreciation. He said the positive feedback has been a major source of motivation for the team.

According to him, viewers have particularly appreciated the film’s storyline, performances, and its portrayal of the physical and emotional challenges faced by individuals and their impact on life.

After the release of the teaser and song, audiences have shown special interest in actors Arun Chhetri and Simran Khadka.

Arun Chhetri plays the role of a young man with autism, a character that comes as a surprise for many viewers, as he was previously known for romantic roles. Simran Khadka’s performance has also drawn strong attention and praise from early reactions.

Written by Dr. Bhola Rijal, the film features an ensemble cast including Madan Krishna Shrestha, Prakash Ghimire, Lunibha Tuladhar, Sita Devi Timsina, Rabindra Jha, Ishwari Baral, Sanjog Rasaili, Lakshminath Timsina, Anshu Oli, and Prince Nepali, among others. The film is produced by Suman Giri and Dr. Kapil Rijal.
