Directed by Dr Kapil Rijal, the film presents the duo together for the first time, a pairing that has already piqued audiences' curiosity.
KATHMANDU: The upcoming film ‘Gauthali’ is scheduled for release on July 17, introducing a youthful on-screen pairing of Arjun Chhetri and Simran Khadka in lead roles as husband and wife.
Directed by Dr Kapil Rijal, the film presents the duo together for the first time, a pairing that has already piqued audiences’ curiosity.
Arjun Chhetri, known for his performance in Mahapurush, and Simran Khadka, recognized for films like Premgunj, Chhitra, and Behuli From Meghauli, are expected to bring a strong emotional dynamic to the story.
The film has already generated buzz following the release of its emotional soundtrack “Aankha Bhari Aasu”, sung by Thaneswar Gautam and Shanti Shree Pariyar, with music composed by Gautam himself and lyrics written by Dr. Bhola Rijal.
The song has been well received by audiences.
In a promotional highlight, the song launch event surprised attendees as the lead actors arrived dressed as bride and groom, creating a memorable moment for guests and media.
Earlier, the film’s teaser also received positive feedback for its emotional depth and storytelling approach, focusing on the psychological and social impact of physical conditions on human life.
The film features a strong ensemble cast including Madan Krishna Shrestha, Prakash Ghimire, Lunibha Tuladhar, Rabindra Jha, Ishwari Baral, Sanjog Rasaili, and others, along with child actors Anshu Oli and Prince Nepali.
Story is written by Dr. Bhola Rijal, while the screenplay and dialogue are a collaborative effort between Kapil Rijal, Nischal Kunwar, Niraj Nepal, and Giriraj Ghimire.
Produced under Bhola Rijal Production and Suman Giri Production, the film’s executive producer is Sarala Rijal. It is co-produced by Suman Giri, Kapil Rijal, Indu Giri, Manish Rijal, Pralay Rijal, and Jeevan Oli.
The film’s music features contributions from Shambhujeet Banskota, Thaneswar Gautam, and Prashant Siwakoti, with background score by Alish Karki. Cinematography is handled by Hari Humagain, editing by Milan Shrestha, and choreography by Ramji Lamichhane and Mausam Himali.
Distribution will be handled by Rich Entertainment, Apple Entertainment, and F.D. Company, with digital rights managed by OSR Digital.
Notably, Gauthali carries a legacy title—two decades ago, Dr. Bhola Rijal produced a film of the same name, considered Nepal’s first musical film, which successfully completed a 51-day theatrical run.
The new version is directed by his son, continuing the cinematic legacy under the same name.
