PM Oli inspects drought-hit Terai-Madhesh regions (photos)

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli conducted an inspection today of the drought-affected regions in the Terai-Madhesh area.
The Government of Nepal, through a Cabinet meeting held on Shrawan 7, declared the entire Madhesh Province a disaster-affected zone for a period of three months due to severe drought conditions.
With inadequate rainfall during the monsoon season, farmers’ paddy plantation has been severely impacted.
To address these challenges, Prime Minister Oli has held discussions with relevant ministers, provincial governments, and senior officials.
The Prime Minister is also scheduled to participate in events in Mahottari and Bara districts as part of his visit.
