Nepalgunj launches ‘Animal Ambulance’ for stray & injured animals
The service is expected to provide timely rescue and care for stray cattle and other animals frequently injured in road accidents within the city.
KATHMANDU: Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City has introduced an ‘Animal Ambulance’ service to rescue injured, sick, and disabled animals, making it easier to transport them to hospitals or shelters.
According to Achyut Gautam, Chief of the Animal Health Division at the Sub-Metropolitan City, the ambulance was handed over by a non-governmental organization, Animal Nepal.
The service is expected to provide timely rescue and care for stray cattle and other animals frequently injured in road accidents within the city.
Sub-Metropolitan City Mayor Prashant Bista expressed confidence that the ambulance will be used to its fullest potential, significantly improving animal rescue and management in the region.
Shobha Rayamajhi, Chair of Animal Nepal, stated that the ambulance was donated to support the safe and efficient transport of animals in need, ensuring they receive proper care at hospitals or shelters.
