KATHMANDU: Madhav Kumar Nepal, Chair of the CPN (Unified Socialist), has advised the party’s senior leader Jhalanath Khanal to serve CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli instead of engaging in rebellion.

Speaking at a program in Kathmandu on Friday, Nepal argued that creating a new party through rebellion and then saying there is no justification for rebellion goes against party discipline.

He said if there is no justification for rebellion, then Khanal should return to UML and serve under Oli’s leadership.

“There is no justification for rebelling and opposing the party in the media. If rebellion does not seem right, then it would have been better to serve KP Oli,” he said.

Nepal also emphasized that party members should only express themselves and promote the party’s interests through the media.

He stated clearly that the new party was formed by rebelling against UML following the violation of the constitution and dissolution of parliament.

“Expressions in the media should be in favor of the party’s interests. We must protect the party’s reputation, uphold party discipline, and promote the party’s interests — not act against it,” he added.

Chair Nepal further claimed that they have preserved Nepal’s communist movement.
