KATHMANDU: The Film Development Board has published the official box office data for Nepali films currently running in theaters, covering collections up to Saturday night (11:59 PM), as of Jestha 9.

According to the report, six Nepali films are presently being screened across cinemas nationwide, with strong variation in their commercial performance.

Leading the box office is the film Lalibazar, which was released on Baisakh 18.

The film has sold 196,406 tickets and earned a gross collection of Rs 57,839,471, making it the highest-grossing title among currently running films.

In second place is Paralko Aago, which has been in theaters since Baisakh 11.

It has recorded 153,925 ticket sales and a gross earning of Rs 42,753,645.

Meanwhile, Maltimangale, released on Baisakh 25, has sold 16,137 tickets and collected Rs 5,163,593 so far.

Another release from the same date, Guruama, has sold 9,327 tickets with a gross collection of Rs 2,924,576.

At the lower end of the box office performance, two recent releases have struggled to gain momentum.

Life Dyamage has sold 9,241 tickets, earning Rs 2,846,170, while EkaMutthi Badal has recorded only 1,501 tickets and a gross collection of Rs 521,825.

The data highlights a clear gap between top-performing and underperforming titles in the current Nepali film market, with audience turnout heavily concentrated on a few leading releases.
