KATHMANDU: In today’s special session of the House of Representatives, MPs emphasized the need to investigate and stop the discrepancy where only half of the centrally allocated budget actually reaches the villages.

MP Dr. Chandrakanta Bhandari highlighted that when 100 units are sent from the capital, only 50 reach the rural areas, calling on the parliament to play a role in addressing this issue.

He also requested the Speaker to issue a ruling for proper land surveying in Dhaulagiri, where apple cultivation is practiced but land measurements have not been conducted.

MP Leelanath Shrestha demanded the government address drinking water shortages in the Terai-Madhesh region and urged for the administration of the Lumpy Skin Disease vaccine, which has affected cattle in the area, using supplies sent from the center.

MP Purnbahadur Ghartimagar pointed out that even after one year of government formation with a seven-point constitutional amendment agenda, clarity on which sections will be amended is still lacking.

MP Rajendra Prasad Pandey called for accountability and justice regarding the crash of 21-year-old Saurya Airlines, which operated last year without Nepal Civil Aviation Authority approval, demanding compensation for the victims.

MP Ranjukumari Jha also raised the issue of drinking water problems in Madhesh Province, urging prompt solutions.
