Minister Gupta: Even untasted poison can harm after resignation
Gupta, responding on social media after his resignation on Tuesday, expressed his frustration over being defamed despite not speaking out.
KATHMANDU: Federal Affairs and General Administration Minister Rajkumar Gupta has resigned from his position following the public release of an audio clip allegedly linked to a bribery scandal.
Gupta, responding on social media after his resignation on Tuesday, expressed his frustration over being defamed despite not speaking out.
“Sometimes even poison can affect those who don’t consume it—I am currently a victim of just that,” he wrote.
Gupta stated that he submitted his resignation to the Prime Minister to facilitate an investigation and uncover the truth behind the allegations. “I have resigned from the position of Minister of General Administration and request that the accusations against me be thoroughly investigated so the facts can come to light,” he added.
Earlier, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli summoned Gupta to Baluwatar for questioning regarding the audio matter.
Following this meeting, Gupta chose to step down.
Gupta maintains that the voice in the audio is not his and alleged that he has been targeted through technological manipulation.
He emphasized the need for a thorough inquiry to expose the truth behind the conspiracy.
