Man murdered in Sarlahi; investigation underway
The victim, identified as Hosh Narayan Raya Yadav, was attacked while sleeping in a buffalo shed along with his 14-year-old younger son.
KATHMANDU: A 52-year-old man was brutally killed with a sharp weapon in Manpur, Ward No. 1 of Basbariya Rural Municipality in Sarlahi district late Saturday night.
The victim, identified as Hosh Narayan Raya Yadav, was attacked while sleeping in a buffalo shed along with his 14-year-old younger son, Rajkumar, around midnight, according to police.
Following the attack, the seriously injured Yadav managed to walk toward his home to inform family members, but he succumbed to his injuries while being rushed to the hospital.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Gopi Krishna Subedi of Barahathwa said the body has been kept at the municipal hospital in Barahathwa.
Preparations are underway to send it to Provincial Hospital Malangwa for post-mortem examination.
The victim’s eldest son, Subash Kumar Yadav, described his father as a calm and honest person, saying he had no known disputes with anyone and that the motive behind the killing remains unclear.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are actively searching for those involved.
