KATHMANDU: Director Dinesh Raut’s highly anticipated film ‘Kumari’ is set to release in cinemas across Nepal from Magh 23 (Feb 6).
Ahead of the premiere, Raut reached out to theater technicians and projectionists nationwide, sharing technical guidelines to ensure optimal sound quality for audiences.
The film has been mixed in an advanced immersive format, with sound design tailored for theaters equipped with Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and AuroMax, promising viewers a full cinematic experience.
According to Raut, the sound mixing and mastering were conducted at Fader Unit 5.5, a level carefully chosen to preserve audio dynamics and provide a realistic auditory experience.
The production team has already conducted trial screenings at 5.5 Fader Unit to ensure the film’s sound performs at its best.
In his letter, Raut requested theaters not to screen the film at a lower volume than the recommended 5.5 Fader Unit, emphasizing that the creative vision was built around this standard. “We have designed the film creatively around 5.5 Fader Unit. To ensure audiences receive the ultimate experience, we urge theaters to conduct a mandatory test run before commercial screenings,” the director wrote.
Starring Abhishek Khadka and Aakriti Rajbhandari, and produced by Mahendra Adhikari, ‘Kumari’ is expected to set new technical benchmarks in Nepali cinema, generating excitement among both audiences and exhibitors.
