Kathmandu sees nearly 2°C drop in minimum temperature

KATHMANDU: The minimum temperature in the Kathmandu Valley dropped by nearly 2 degrees Celsius on Tuesday compared to the previous day.

According to meteorologists at the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the initial measurement taken at 5:45 am showed the valley’s minimum temperature at 5.5°C.

At the same time on Monday, the minimum temperature had been recorded at 7.3°C.

However, on Monday morning, the temperature fell further to 6.8°C when the official minimum was recorded at 8:45 am.

Meteorologists noted that the official minimum temperature for Tuesday will also be measured at 8:45 am, and there is a possibility that the temperature could drop further than the early-morning reading.

Cold conditions are expected to persist in the valley as winter continues.
