KATHMANDU: Balendra Shah has been sworn in as Nepal’s Prime Minister, alongside 14 cabinet ministers, in a special ceremony held at Sheetal Niwas on Friday.
President Ramchandra Paudel administered the oath of office and secrecy to Shah and his ministers, following the Prime Minister’s appointment under Article 76 (1) of the Constitution, as leader of the largest party in Parliament.

The newly formed cabinet includes key appointments such as Swarnim Wagle as Finance Minister, Gurung as Home Minister, Shishir Khanal as Foreign Minister, and Sunil Lamsal as Minister for Physical Infrastructure. Other portfolios include Energy, Tourism, Education, Health, Communications, Federal Affairs, Law, Agriculture, Labour, and Women, Children and Social Welfare.

Several former prime ministers, including Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Jhala Nath Khanal, Madhav Kumar Nepal and Baburam Bhattarai attended the swearing-in ceremony.

However, former prime ministers KP Sharma Oli and Sher Bahadur Deuba were notably absent.
