Four former PMs attend Balen Shah’s swearing-in, key leaders absent

KATHMANDU: Newly appointed Prime Minister Balen Shah took the oath of office today at the Presidential Palace, Sheetal Niwas, in a ceremony marked by the presence of four former Prime Ministers.
Attending the event were Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Jhalanath Khanal, Madhav Kumar Nepal, and Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, reflecting broad political acknowledgment of Shah’s new role.
Notably absent were KP Sharma Oli, the chair of the CPN-UML, and Sher Bahadur Deuba, former Prime Minister and ex-chair of the Nepali Congress, signaling potential political undercurrents even during the ceremonial proceedings.
