KATHMANDU: Filming for the much-anticipated Nepali film Jaari 2—directed by acclaimed poet and filmmaker Upendra Subba—has officially concluded after 36 days of shooting in the scenic district of Panchthar.
Produced under the banners of Baasuri Films and Kabaddi Films, the film is set to release during this year’s Dashain festival, although the exact release date is yet to be confirmed.

The production company recently announced the wrap and unveiled character looks for the lead actors Dayahang Rai and Miruna Magar.
In the revealed stills, Miruna is seen in a traditional Limbu attire while Daya Hang is captured playing the indigenous Chyabrung drum.
Jari 2 carries the slogan “Song of Chyabrung”, and is penned by Subba himself. It follows the monumental success of Jaari (2080), his directorial debut, which grossed over Rs 170 million at the Nepali box office and became one of the year’s biggest blockbusters.

Directed by Subba and produced by celebrated filmmaker Ram Babu Gurung, Jaari 2 features a strong ensemble cast including Bijay Baral, Richa Sharma, Buddhi Tamang, Pushkar Gurung, Prem Subba, Maotse Gurung, Manahang Lawati, Bishnu Moktan, Kamalmani Nepal, Anil Subba, Rekha Limbu, Bedana Rai, and Sirjana Ninglekhu.
With its cultural depth, powerful storytelling, and a stellar cast, Jari 2 is poised to be one of the major cinematic highlights of the year.
