KATHMANDU: Actor Arpan Thapa has been officially signed in a lead role for the upcoming film The Blue Light, a psychological thriller recently announced through a concept poster release.

The film marks the directorial debut of Baliram Chauhan, who previously served as the writer and chief assistant director for the much-anticipated film Balidan.

Chauhan is set to bring his storytelling to the forefront with The Blue Light, which is being produced under the banner of Skyfall Pictures.

According to the production team, Thapa was formally brought on board this Tuesday. Renowned cinematographer Narendra Mainali will handle the film’s visuals, with Raman Grey joining as co-producer.

The film is scheduled to begin shooting on Jestha 21 (early June 2025), with preparations already underway.

The recently released theme poster features a mysterious scene with a young girl standing amidst a blue-hued atmosphere.

Only the upper half of the girl is visible, with disheveled hair and a disturbed expression, hinting at the film’s psychological and enigmatic tone.

However, the poster intentionally leaves the full storyline undisclosed.

Director Chauhan has chosen to keep details about the plot and other cast members under wraps for now but promises to reveal the complete cast lineup soon.

The Blue Light is slated for release within 2025.
