KATHMANDU: The soulful song ‘Aama’ from the upcoming Nepali film Janai Harayeko Manchhe: Sambandhka Dhagaharu has been officially released, capturing hearts with its poignant lyrics and melody.

Composed, written, and sung by acclaimed musician Arjun Pokharel, the track also features vocals by Manisha Sunar, blending beautifully to evoke deep emotions.

Distinct from typical folk tunes, the song incorporates various melodic rises and falls, with dynamic variations in rhythm that enrich its overall texture.

The composition’s subtle fluctuations lend the song a unique and compelling character.

The lyrics poignantly reflect the essence of the film’s storyline — the struggles of the protagonist after leaving home and facing hardships in the city.

It tells the story of a son who comes to Kathmandu to repay his mother’s debts and wipe away her tears, only to realize that city life is far harsher and more unforgiving than he had imagined.

The emotional narrative conveys how the son, who initially believes Kathmandu will offer ease and opportunity, ends up enduring endless difficulties. The song captures his internal conflict—whether to continue struggling in the city or return home defeated.

With heartfelt pleas asking for more time and hoping to delay taking his ailing mother to the hospital, the song touches the listeners deeply.

It portrays the raw realities of city life, where people are not always kind and every household has its unique burdens.

Associate Director Manish Raut describes the song as a dedication to all mothers and their children who leave home in search of success and happiness in the city, embodying their hopes and sacrifices.

The official music video features stellar performances by the film’s lead cast, including Bijay Baral, Keki Adhikari, Miruna Magar, Shushank Mainali, and Kavita Ale, further bringing the song’s emotional depth to life.

Janai Harayeko Manchhe: Sambandhka Dhagaharu is slated for release on Aug 22.

The film stars Bijay Baral, who is acclaimed as an “Epic Natural Star” by the producers, alongside Keki Adhikari and Miruna Magar.

Filmed across Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, and Kavre, the movie is currently in post-production.

Directed by Himal Neupane, it narrates the touching emotional bond between a mother and son—a theme vividly echoed in the newly released song.

The film’s screenplay, dialogues, and story are penned by Bhanubhakta Dhakal, with cinematography by Naveen Gurung (DOP) and Krishna Pariyar.

The soundtrack features contributions from Arjun Pokharel, Thaneswar Gautam, SD Yogi, and Prashant Siwakoti.

Produced by Kamal and Bimal Nyaupane under the Paperclip banner, the film’s production team includes associate producers RK Manandhar, Rupesh Lama, CR Basnet, Narayan Timilsina, and Chudamani Siwakoti.

The distribution rights have been secured by Kafiya Films, promising a wide reach for this emotionally charged cinematic experience.

Following the blockbuster success of Purna Bahadur Ko Sarangi, Bijay Baral returns to the screen with this highly anticipated project, marking a significant release in the Nepali film industry for BS 2081.
