KATHMANDU: Former captain of the national cricket team, Sandeep Lamichhane, has issued a public warning, declaring his intention to disclose the names of all those involved in an alleged conspiracy against him.

Lamichhane, who has been embroiled in a controversy accusing him of involvement in a rape case, asserts that he will unveil the roles played by individuals in this ‘conspiracy’.

Taking to Facebook in the early hours of Wednesday, Lamichhane hinted at his involvement in the conspiracy. “I respect the law and order of the concerned court, but I pledge to publicly disclose the name of each person involved in this conspiracy, who are associated with this case,” he stated.

Earlier, he had claimed to be a victim of the conspiracy. “I’ve refrained from posting for a long time. I have no doubts about being a victim of the conspiracy,” he had said. “In this conspiracy, may God bless everyone who played their role. I leave everything to God. Time will reveal the truth until then.”

Lamichhane, who was sentenced to eight years in prison by the Kathmandu District Court in a rape case, is currently awaiting a verdict on his appeal in the Patan High Court. Possibly, he had sought to reveal his predicament before the announcement of the World Cup team, indicating his desire to clear his name before the declaration.
