NEA warns of street light disconnection over unpaid dues

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has issued a public notice today, warning of potential disconnection of street lights at any time in response to unpaid dues from local authorities.
Previously, on March 29, the Authority had urged all local bodies to pay their dues for street light usage.
Following this, some local bodies committed to becoming regular customers and supporting the payment of dues for street light usage.
The Authority has also informed that some payments have been received from certain entities.
However, due to some local authorities neglecting or evading notices, the Authority warns of potential disconnection of electricity lines to street lights in such areas.
The Authority has expressed regret for any inconvenience this may cause to the general public.
