KATHMANDU: The fourth edition of the Mero Auto Motor Rally is scheduled to take place on May 3 & 4.

Organized by the Automobile Association of Nepal, this year’s rally will span from Kathmandu to Sauraha in Chitwan.

Karan Chaudhary, the Chair of the Automobile Association of Nepal, will flag off the rally, commencing from Kupondole, Lalitpur at 8 a.m. on Friday.

The rally will traverse through various routes including Balkhu, Dakshinkali, Sisneri, and Hetauda, culminating at Hotel Monalisa in Sauraha.

The rally will witness participation from over 100 individuals representing diverse sectors such as automobiles, banking, insurance, among others, driving over 50 cars.

Ujjwal Ghimire, the coordinator of the rally, expressed that the objective behind organizing the event is to promote domestic tourism, raise awareness about road safety, and expand the commercial network in the auto sector.

“We have been organizing the Mero Auto Motor Rally for the past four years with the aim of promoting domestic tourism and raising awareness about safe highway driving,” Ghimire stated. “This year, we are committed to continuing the tradition.”

All preparations for the rally have reached the final stage, Ghimire added.

The sponsors of the rally include Cimex Inc. (Bajaj), Laxmi Intercontinental (Hyundai), and Paramount Motors (MG).

Additionally, supporters include Tata Tiago EV, CG Motors, DIPAL, Global IME Bank, OMOIDA, Facial House, Toyota, Mega Business Group, among others.

Furthermore, banking partners include Citizens Bank, insurance partners Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance (SALICO), Liquor Partners NEPSE Bull, beverage partner Himalayan Premium Beer, food partner Foodmandu, entertainment partner INI Cinemas Nepal, lubricant partner Nepal Lube Oil, and hospitality partner Hotel Monalisa (Sauraha).

It has become a tradition for Mero Auto Motor Rally to organize the Motor Rally annually during its anniversary celebrations in the month of Baishakh.

The first edition (2078) was from Kathmandu to Sukute, the second edition (2079) from Kathmandu to Mulkot, and the third edition (2080) from Kathmandu to Nuwakot was held.
