NC demanded the resignation of the Home Minister in Parliament

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress, the main opposition party, has demanded the resignation of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane.

At the beginning of the parliamentary session, Congress MP Pradeep Poudel voiced concerns, stating that Lamichhane, who became controversial figure upon his appointment as Home Minister, should resign on ethical grounds. “It wasn’t appropriate for him to become the Home Minister when questions were raised about him. How can a person under investigation for cooperative fraud fulfill the responsibilities of the government’s chief executive?” Poudel questioned.
