JANAKPURDHAM: While the country celebrates Constitution Day, it is being opposed in Madhesh State’s capital.

In contrast to Constitution Day, the day the Constitution was promulgated in Janakpur is observed as a Black Day.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the Constitution of Nepal issued by the Constituent Assembly in 2072, Terai Madhesh Loktantrik Party (TAMALOPA) has displayed black flags in various squares of Janakpurdham this morning.

Umesh Mandal, central member of TAMALOPA, said that the police intervened and tried to suppress the demonstration of black flags in the streets of Janakpurdham.

He said that on the day of the 2072 Constitution Day, the state was slaughtering Madheshis by establishing police administration in Madhesh.

According to the leadership, the constitution requires that the Madhesh have access to every body of the state, including the proportional one, based on population, and that the state be empowered according to the province’s composition.
