16-year-old teen faces consequences after homemade pistol, crafted from YouTube tutorials, explodes

KATHMANDU: A teenage boy was injured when the homemade pistol he had crafted accidentally burst in Banke.

According to reports, the teenager had crafted a homemade pistol resembling a toy gun made of wood and plastic, inspired by watching videos on YouTube.
However, the police stated that the pistol, which he had kept in the back pocket of his pants, it accidentally burst, injuring him.
The boy sustained injuries to his right thigh from the recoil of the pistol. He has been sent for treatment to the Medical College in Nepalgunj, Banke.
Authorities from the District Police Office, Banke, have stated that the boy’s condition is stable, and the firearm is under police control.
