KATHMANDU: A student in the fifth semester of his undergraduate studies at Bardibas-6 Krishnapur Natural Resource Management College has reported a fever problem.

Eighty students have fallen ull with fever in the last five or six days. It is said that they have exams from Friday.

After a student in a rural college had a fever, a medical team from Bardibas Hospital visited the campus and performed a health check-up.

According to Dr. Kishore Adhikari, Medical Officer at the hospital, three of the persons who had fever were proven to be infected with dengue.

All of the students had the same symptoms, including a sudden onset of high fever and headache. Fever was causing problems for the students even during the fourth-semester exams, according to campus dean Hari Bhujel.

Although it is considered that the fever spread owing to the ingestion of cloudy tainted water throughout the summer, the experts involved in the examination claim that dengue infection may still be present in some of them.

Padma Ale Magar, Chair of Bardibas-6 ward, stated that a health check-up camp was held on Wednesday in collaboration with Bardibas Hospital after students began falling ill with fever and headache symptoms.

Some people are currently being treated at a health clinic near the campus, while others are being treated at Bardibas Hospital.

Campus Director Bhujel told that a letter to the Dean’s office of Rampur Chitwan University of Agriculture and Forestry had been written to postpone the exams. Ward Chair Magar claims that the mayor and other stakeholders are working together to improve the health of the pupils.
