Ward Chair Mukunda Rijal’s funeral at Pashupati after National Hall tribute
Suffering from pneumonia, Rijal was admitted to Grande International Hospital on Bhadra 17 (Sept 3) and died in the course of treatment at 7:30 am today.
KATHMANDU: Ward Chairperson of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-16, Mukunda Rijal, passed away this morning.
Suffering from pneumonia, Rijal was admitted to Grande International Hospital on Bhadra 17 (Sept 3) and died in the course of treatment at 7:30 am today, said Hospital Director, Dr Binod Bijukchhe.
Mukunda Rijal’s mortal body, Ward Chair of Kathmandu Metropolitan City- 16 and Regional Chair of Nepali Congress Kathmandu Constituency No. 7, would be kept at the National Hall beginning at 11 a.m.
Following that, it is reported to be kept in the Pashupati temple grounds for homage. His final cremation is set later this afternoon.
Ward Chair Rijal, who is also the Regional Chair of Nepali Congress Kathmandu Constituency No. 7, was elected Ward Chair in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-16 for the second time in the municipal elections conducted in 2079.
He is survived by a wife and two sons.
