DUMRE: Dr. Shekhar Koirala, a central member of the Nepali Congress, has stated that the Congress is under attack from all sides.

At a reception hosted by the Nepali Congress District Working Committee today at BP Smriti Bhawan in Damauli, he highlighted the importance of everyone working together to combat such attacks.

‘It is vital to combat the attacks in all forms,’ Dr. Koirala said, adding that “the Congress should now be united.”

He highlighted that there is no need to be disappointed even if it is not possible to win in the by-elections because Tanahun is the Congress’s bastion, but the leadership should endeavor to create unity.

Dr. Koirala said, ‘nowhere seems to be right in the country’s economic, religious, cultural and even diplomatic fields. It will be difficult to solve it unless the leadership of the Congress is there.’

He said that the leadership should play its role so that the Congress can enter the election field alone in the upcoming elections.

Dr. Koirala suggested that if the Congress is strong in Tanahun, the neighbouring districts connected with it will also be affected so that the leadership here should not be disappointed and be strong.

Shankar Bhandari, a central member of the Nepali Congress, said that the role of Congress is important in building a democratic government. He said, ‘The current need is to empower the Congress.’

Member Bhandari said that the responsibility of building the district as well as building the country has now fallen on the shoulders of Tanahun’s leadership and said that the Congress has no choice but to be sensitive and move forward.
