KATHMANDU: A gold processing factory has been found in Tokha, Kathmandu.

The Revenue Investigation Department discovered the factory while probing the gold smuggling network after a quintal of gold was recovered from the Tribhuvan Airport Customs Office.

During the on-site investigation on Friday and Saturday, the department’s staff discovered the plant functioning inside an agricultural farm in Tokha and sealed it.

According to the investigation, the gold smuggled from the Tribhuvan Airport customs was first brought to Lee Jikwang’s workshop in Baluwatar, and then to Tokha for processing.
