KATHMANDU: The government has issued an 11-point manifesto to organize and improve the transport sector.

The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, as well as all state governments, have published a declaration to enhance the transportation industry.

The manifesto was issued during a two-day meeting at Dhulikhel in Kavre of transport ministers from seven states, secretaries and chief ministers from two states, and physical infrastructure and transport minister Prakash Jwala.

According to the manifesto, from Bhadra, all transport offices will provide services online, and online payment will be covered.

Similarly, 11 topics such as printing of driver’s licenses (smart card), embossed number plates, cost reduction of old vehicles, ride-sharing, Nebulization of foreign drivers, and scientific fare determination are covered.

According to the proclamation, embossed number plates would be installed on all government vehicles by Kartik 2080.

The system created by the department under the EDL VRS project will be deployed in Bhadra, replacing the Electronic Vehicle Registration System (VRS).

Similarly, state governments will produce and issue driver’s licenses (smart cards).
