KATHMANDU: The NIC Asia Bank has honored the national women’s football team for their outstanding performance as runners-up in the WAFF Women’s Championship 2024, held in Saudi Arabia some time ago.

A special event was organized at Hotel Himalayan in Lalitpur on May 6, where the bank praised the national women’s football team for their exceptional performance at the international level, contributing immensely to the nation’s pride.

In collaboration with the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), the bank conferred commendation and cash prizes of Rs. 25,000 each to the 31 members of the national women’s football team.

Additionally, brand promoter recognition was also announced for the national women’s football team’s goalkeeper Anjana Rana Magar during the event.

This was the first time the Nepali national women’s football team participated in the competition held in Saudi Arabia, where they demonstrated outstanding teamwork, sportsmanship, resilience, and determination to reach the final of the WAFF Women’s Championship 2024 as runners-up.

The bank extended congratulations to all players, both on and off the field, for their exceptional contribution to the competition and wished them continued success in the future.
