KATHMANDU: Barahi Jungle Lodge, situated within Chitwan National Park, has successfully organized a cleanliness drive under its hospitality initiative.

The lodge collected approximately three tractor loads of waste, including plastic and glass bottles.

According to Tej Thanet, Food and Beverage Manager, the clean-up effort extended up to Golaghat, about three kilometers downstream from the lodge, around the riverside area.

Thanet informed that all waste collected within the national park’s vicinity was properly managed. Local authorities also contributed to maintaining cleanliness in the area.

Thanet mentioned that such cleanliness drives are conducted annually in this area. Additionally, the resort is committed to environmental conservation and sustainable development.

The resort’s efforts in environmental conservation have earned it recognition, including the ‘Tough Tiger’ certification under the Eco-certified Lodge program.

This certification acknowledges the resort’s continuous adherence to outstanding practices since 2015.

Recently, Barahi Jungle Lodge has also been certified as a Barahi Jungle Lodge Certified Forest by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO 14001), affirming its commitment to international-level environmental management systems.

Located on the banks of the Rapti River in Meghauli, Chitwan, the lodge offers a thematic setting amidst the jungle.

Spanning over 12 hectares, the lodge provides an opportunity to observe various wildlife species, including rhinos, tigers, bears, and a myriad of birds, along with enjoying recreational activities in the Rapti River.
