Janakpur-Jayanagar railway to begin service to Bhangaha today, served 6 times daily

KATHMANDU: The long gauge railway service between Janakpur and Jayanagar would run up to Bhangaha in Mahottari.

From today, the train will run from Jayanagar in India via Kurtha in Janakpurdham to Bhangha in Mahottari.

Broad gauge train service will be extended by 17 kilometres. The train service will be launched by Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Prakash Jwala, according to Niranjan Jha, General Manager of Nepal train Company.

Minister Jwala is due to open a new 17-kilometre railway service at Mahottari’s Bhangaha station at 10:30 a.m.

Previously, in the first phase, the railway service ran 35 kilometres from Kurtha in Janakpur to Jayanagar in India.

The travel from Bhangaha in Mahottari to Jayanagar would be expanded to 52 kilometres through Janakpur after an extra 17 kilometres.

General Manager Jha stated that the service would be expanded to three times each day beginning Monday. However, at Bhangha station, it has been said that service will be provided just once a day in the morning and will return in the evening.
