Govt should take economy seriously: CM Thapa

KATHMANDU: Gagan Kumar Thapa, General Secretary of the Nepali Congress, has stated that the government must work hard to solve and improve the economy’s problems.

Speaking today at the Society of Economic Journalists Nepal (SEJON) event on ‘Future Economic Priorities of the Current Government,’ Thapa stated unequivocally that more than a dozen ministries should not be kept vacant for the convenience of political parties.

‘The government should be serious about improving the country’s economy,’ he said, adding that the work of the five-year-old government should be seen as a signal within five months.

According to General Minister Thapa, the Prime Minister should be more concerned about the economy and prioritize economic reforms.
