Independent MP Kiran Sah joins UML

Former Prime Minister and UML Chairperson Oli formally admitted independent MP Kiran Sah to the party by tying a khada (ceremonial scarf) and offering a tika.

KATHMANDU: Kiran Kumar Shah, the Rautahat-2 independent federal MP, has joined the CPN-UML party. KP Sharma Oli, the party’s chairperson, welcomed independent MP Shah to the UML in Balkot.

Former Prime Minister and UML Chairperson Oli formally admitted independent MP Kiran Sah to the party by tying a khada (ceremonial scarf) and offering a tika.

Shah stated that he had already joined the UML informally and that his membership was now formalized. ‘I joined the UML unofficially. Today it was officially entered,’ he said.

Along with KP Sharma Oli, Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel, Rautahat Region 1 federal MP candidate Ajay Kumar Gupta, state MP candidate Rajkishore Yadav, UML’s local leader Sheikh Fazlul Haque and others were present.

In the November 4th House of Representatives elections, independent candidate Kiran Sah defeated the then alliance’s candidate and former minister, Fordos Alam, the son of Mohammad Aftab Alam, who is currently imprisoned in Nakkhu Jail, by nearly 7,000 votes.
