Ilam-1: Jhalnath could not surpass Mahesh

KATHMANDU: Jhalnath Khanal, the respected leader of the CPN United Socialist Party, is trailing by 1,200 votes in Ilam Constituency No. 1.

There, CPN-UML candidate Mahesh Basnet has surpassed him from the beginning.

Basnet of the UML secured 8,056 votes.

Khanal, who was trailing, secured 6,849 votes.

The difference between these two is ,1207.
