Jayanagar-Kurtha train service to remains closed for 4 days

The Nepal Railway Company Limited has announced that the train service will be closed from Thursday (Nov 17) to Sunday (Nov 20) due to the House of Representatives and State Assembly elections on Nov 20.

JANAKPURDHAM: The Jayanagar-Kurtha railway line will be closed for four days beginning Thursday.

The Nepal Railway Company Limited has announced that the train service will be closed from Thursday (Nov 17) to Sunday (Nov 20) due to the House of Representatives and State Assembly elections on Nov 20.

Niranjan Kumar Jha, Managing Director of Nepal Railway Company Limited, announced that the Indian border would be closed 72 hours before the election.

He stated that the train service will resume on Monday, Nov 21. The 35 km railway from Jayanagar to Kurtha has been running regular train services since Chait 20, 2078, out of the 70 km under construction railway from Jayanagar to Bardibas in Mahottari (3 April , 2022).

Similarly, the District Administration Office in Dhanusha has announced that all services, except peace and security, will be closed from Nov 17 to 20.

Anuj Bhandari, Assistant Police of Dhanusha, issued a notice informing that all services except peace and security would be closed because the majority of the office’s employees would be deployed in the election.
