KATHMANDU: Traffic police have taken action against 2,702 drivers in one day in Kathmandu valley.

Action was taken against them at different places of the valley on Saturday for violating traffic rules.

According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, 182 people have been taekn action for driving under the influence of alcohol.

The office also took action against 48 drivers who did not follow lane discipline, 62 who ran a red light, 174 who honked in prohibited areas, and 32 drivers who did not properly keep number plates.

Other actions have been taken against 204 drivers, according to the office.
