KATHMANDU: Indian Army Chief General Manoj Pandey will arrive in Nepal tomorrow for a five-day visit. General Pandey is visiting Nepal at the invitation of Chief of Army Staff Prabhuram Sharma.

During the visit, President Bidya Devi Bhandari, the Nepali Army’s Commander-in-Chief, will confer the honorary title of General of Nepal Army on Indian Army Chief Pandey.

Since 1951, the army chiefs of Nepal and India have been bestowed with the honorary title of General. In 2021, Chief of Army Staff Sharma was given the honorary title of General of the Indian Army.

Indian Army Chief Pandey is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Deuba and Defense Minister during his visit.

Similarly, assistance worth Rs 223.8 million will be handed over to the Nepal Army by India during the Indian Army Chief’s visit, including cannon maintenance parts, horses, simulators, explosives-resistant vehicles, and necessary equipment for mobile hospitals.
