KATHMANDU: MAY. 20 – Balen Sah, an independent candidate for the post of Kathmandu Metropolitan Mayor, has got more than 26,000 votes.

According to the latest results, Balen secured 26,591 votes.

His closest competitor, Keshav Sthapit of the UML, secured 14,165 votes.

Similarly, Sirjana Singh, the NC’s ruling coalition candidate, is in third place with 13,562 votes.

Sunita Dangol of the UML polled 26,575 votes for the position of deputy mayor.

Rameshwar Shrestha of the UCPN (Maoist) obtained 8,591 votes.

As of this morning, 70,389 votes have been counted in Kathmandu.
