KATHMANDU: JULY 28 – Alexander (Alex) Shah, a swimmer who competed in the Tokyo Olympics 2020 on behalf of Nepal, has dropped out of the competition.

Although Shah set the record by improving the timing in the 100-meter freestyle, he is out of 71 and is out of the Heat 1.

In Tuesday’s event, Alex set a new national record by completing the required distance in 53.41 seconds. He improved on his previous record of 55.38 seconds. Although he set a record by improving the timing in freestyle, he could not make it to the top 16 from the Heat 1.

A total of 71 people had competed in the Heat 1. Earlier, the challenge of two Nepali players ended in the first round on Saturday.

Judo’s Sonia Bhatta competed in the 48 kg weight category and Kalpana Pariyar in the shooting competed in the 10m air rifle. Kalpana had managed to set a national record.
