Free health camp in Suryagadhi, participation of more than a thousand on the first day

KATHMANDU: More patients have registered for the free health camp organized by Suryagadhi village municipality of Nuwakot than expected. On Thursday, the first day of the camp, the number of patients coming for check-up has reached more than one thousand.

After coming in large numbers to test, the test will be done today and tomorrow. The project of Suryagadhi village municipality, coordination of Kathmandu Medical College and Rudekan Group Nuwakot has started from Thursday.

Inaugurating the health camp at Bageshwori Secondary School, Chokde, Nepali Congress central member and former finance minister Dr. Ram Sharan Mahat said that the camp was very beneficial for the patients as they would be examined by specialist doctors from Kathmandu and would be taken to Kathmandu for treatment.

Similarly, at the inauguration program at the camp, village chairman Sant Bahadur Ghale urged to test the patients effectively. He said that free diagnosis, treatment, surgery and necessary medicine have been provided by the village municipality for all the patients who come for examination.

Manju Budhathoki (Dhakal), vice-chairperson of the village, reminded that the much-needed medicine was provided free of cost to the patients at a time when there was a risk of Covid-19 and urged them to take advantage of the camp.

Narayan Prasad Dahal, general manager of Kathmandu Medical College, said that technical assistance was provided by bringing 20 skilled doctors and necessary equipment for the free health camp. He said that treatment services will be provided for all health related problems.

Ramesh Kumar Mahat, chairman of Rudekan Group Nuwakot and a member of the Congress General Committee, informed that the post-Suryagadhi camp would be set up in all the municipalities of the district.
