Brutal murder of a single woman in Jhapa after loot

KATHMANDU: A gruesome murder followed by looting occurred in the Shivanagar Tole of Biratamode Municipality-4 in Jhapa.

On Tuesday night around 12 o’clock, a group involved in the looting assaulted and killed Bishnumaya Bista, a 68-year-old woman, by attacking her with a sharp weapon in her home, after which they looted the house.

Despite disturbances in the neighborhood during the night, the area seemed calm.

However, locals discovered the murder the next morning. Local accounts confirm the murder took place.

The Biratamod Police Office has initiated an investigation into the incident.

The police have informed that further investigation is underway regarding the murder and looting incident.
