KATHMANDU: Chandra Bahadur Tamang, aged 60, accused in the 2063 BS (2006 AD) murder case of Nima Dawa Sherpa in Bhojpur, was apprehended by the police on Tuesday from Dharan after 17 years of evasion.

The arrest warrant against Tamang was issued by the Bhojpur District Court in Bhadra 2080 BS (August 2023 AD).

Sudipraj Pathak, Chief of the Bhojpur District Police Office, confirmed the successful arrest on Tuesday, following an extensive search operation.

Tamang, who had been on the run for nearly two decades, was made public by the police today.
