TU professor Rijal died in a bus accident in Kirtipur

KATHMANDU: A bus accident in Kirtipur, Kathmandu, today resulted in one fatality and three injuries.

According to spokesperson for the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police, Senior Superintendent of Police Dinesh Raj Mainali, the accident occurred in front of the Kirtipur Ayurvedic Hospital when bus Ba 3 Kha 2027 en route to Ratnapark suddenly crashed.

The deceased, identified as Dr. Govinda Rijal, aged 42, was rushed to Kirtipur Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries this afternoon.

The other three injured individuals, identified as Damber Panta (24), of Baitadi and residing in Kirtipur, Bimala Shrestha (24), and the bus driver Ramesh Lama (27).

Lama has been taken to the trauma center for further treatment.
