Youth and Sports Minister Bablu Gupta to resign, eyeing Siraha election

KATHMANDU: Youth and Sports Minister Bablu Gupta, appointed on Kartik 9, is set to resign from his post to contest in the upcoming elections, according to his personal secretary, Binod Rimal.

Gupta, who was recently seen with Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) leader Balendra Shah, is expected to submit his resignation either today or tomorrow.

He plans to run as an RSP candidate from Siraha, although the party has not yet officially granted him the ticket.

Earlier, Gupta had faced controversy over his visit to the United States, and reports suggest that Prime Minister Sushila Karki was dissatisfied with his conduct.
