KATHMANDU: The Election Commission has resumed the collection of voter lists from today after a temporary suspension ahead of the House of Representatives elections.

The voter registration process had been halted since Nov 22 in preparation for parliamentary polls.

However, a meeting of the Commission on April 1 (Chaitra 18) decided to restart the process.

According to Commission spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, the previously suspended program has now been reactivated nationwide.

The Commission has introduced an online system allowing citizens who have obtained a National ID number to register directly using their identification details.

Those not yet enrolled in the National ID system can fill out forms through the Commission’s pre-enrollment platform.

Applicants are required to physically visit provincial or district election offices to submit biometric data, including photographs and fingerprints.

Additionally, voters can apply online to correct errors in their details, remove duplicate entries, and update records related to death or migration.

Corrections to names, addresses, and relocation to more accessible polling centers within the same ward are also permitted.

The Commission has urged all eligible citizens to actively participate in the voter registration process to ensure accurate and updated electoral rolls.
