KATHMANDU: U.S. Vice President JD Vance will lead an American delegation to Pakistan for direct peace talks with Iran, the White House confirmed on Wednesday.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the high-level dialogue is expected to begin Saturday morning.
President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and senior adviser Jared Kushner will also take part in the talks.
Earlier, Pakistan proposed hosting the negotiations in Islamabad as early as Friday, aiming to facilitate direct engagement between U.S. and Iranian officials.
