Traffic violations: Over 1,600 drivers penalized in 24 hours
Among those penalized, 85 drivers were booked for driving under the influence of alcohol, 163 for illegal ride-sharing operations, 142 for signal violations, and 117 for speeding.
KATHMANDU: A total of 1,687 drivers were penalized for violating traffic regulations across the Kathmandu Valley over the past 24 hours, generating Rs 2.03 million in state revenue, according to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office.
Among those penalized, 85 drivers were booked for driving under the influence of alcohol, 163 for illegal ride-sharing operations, 142 for signal violations, and 117 for speeding.
Similarly, 66 drivers were fined for lane discipline violations, 86 for unnecessary honking in restricted zones, 98 for illegal roadside parking, 121 for one-way driving, and 804 for other traffic offenses.
Traffic police said the enforcement drive is part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety and ensure compliance with traffic rules across the capital region.
