Fish bone found in Minister’s meal, 2 held
Officials said two fish bones were discovered in an omelette served to him.
KATHMANDU: Police in Chitwan have detained two hotel kitchen staff members after a foreign object was reportedly found in the breakfast served to Home Minister Sudan Gurung during the Rastriya Swatantra Party’s convention activities.
According to Chitwan police, the incident occurred this morning at Lord Hotel near the airport, where the minister was having breakfast.
Officials said two fish bones were discovered in an omelette served to him.
Superintendent of Police Rameshwar Paudel said the two cooks were taken into custody for questioning following the complaint.
“They have been detained for inquiry into the incident,” he said.
Following the discovery, a joint team including the Chief District Officer, food safety authorities, and police carried out an inspection of the hotel’s kitchen.
Authorities said monitoring of food establishments has been intensified in Chitwan to ensure safe meals for delegates attending the ongoing RSP convention.
