KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ convened a crucial meeting today with top leaders of major political parties to deliberate on advancing the transitional justice process.

The meeting, held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar, included the participation of Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (UML) Chair KP Sharma Oli, and Nepali Congress Chief Whip Ramesh Lekhak.

Discussions centered on key issues related to concluding the remaining aspects of the peace process, particularly focusing on transitional justice.

Manohari Timilsina, the press expert for Prime Minister Dahal, disclosed that the meeting resulted in a consensus to reconvene on Monday for further deliberations.

Among the topics on the agenda was the consideration of a bill to amend the Commission for Investigation and Truth and Reconciliation Act, 2071, currently under review in the Federal Parliament.

Preparations are underway to facilitate the passage of the bill during the upcoming federal parliament meeting, following a consensus at the highest political level.

The government is gearing up to convene the winter session of the federal parliament, emphasizing its commitment to addressing transitional justice concerns and advancing the peace process.
