The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), campaigns led by businessman Durga Prasai, and other royalist groups had announced plans to give the former king a grand welcome on Friday. However, entry to the airport’s main “Golden Gate,” internal and international terminals, parking areas, and all internal roads is now restricted to gatherings of no more than five people.
Prohibited activities include hunger strikes, sit-ins, encirclements, marches, or any demonstrations. Despite the restrictions, royalist supporters have insisted on attending, prompting a strong presence of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force personnel.
Passengers and their families are undergoing strict checks, with authorities preventing unnecessary crowding and closely monitoring suspicious activities.
