KATHMANDU: Auto showrooms in Thapathali, which narrowly escaped destruction during the recent Gen-Z movement, are now striving to return to normal operations.

Unlike previous years, when the festive season of Dashain and Tihar brought excitement and high customer flow, this year the mood remains subdued.

On Sept 9 (Bhadra 24), demonstrators targeted several auto showrooms in the area, setting some on fire and vandalizing others.

Showrooms of CG Motors, Sipradi, Hyundai, and Mahindra were among those attacked, suffering damages worth millions of rupees.

Meanwhile, outlets of MAW, GO Automobiles, and Ford escaped direct assaults.

These showrooms are now actively working to revive their business, launching festive offers and promotions to attract customers ahead of the upcoming holiday season.
